CV check

See your CV the way a Swiss recruiter will. And the way a robot will read it.

Drop your CV. You get two scores: what a Swiss recruiter will look for in it, and what a screening robot (ATS) will manage to read. Paste the target job ad to see the missing keywords.

  • Your CV never leaves your device
  • PDF or Word, in English, French or German

What gets checked

Two readers. Two scores.

Before a recruiter sees it, your CV often goes through screening software. One looks for information, the other first has to manage to read it.

The Swiss recruiter

The rules from the guide Swiss CV, applied to your file.

  • Status or permitNationality or B, C, G permit: the first thing they look for.
  • LanguagesA section, with a level from A1 to C2 for each one.
  • Contact detailsEmail, phone, address, and an email address that looks professional.
  • LengthTwo pages at most, work certificates on top.
  • DatesMonth and year, most recent first, gaps of more than six months.
  • Swiss application filePhoto, work certificates, references.
  • ResultsFigures rather than tasks, proof rather than qualities.
  • Data to removeAHV number, IBAN, religion.
  • FileA clear name, a size that goes through by email.

The screening robot (ATS)

It pulls out the text and sorts it into sections, then the recruiter filters by keyword.

  • CharactersIcons and badly embedded fonts turn into empty symbols.
  • Reading orderTwo columns or tables that the robot mixes up.
  • Text in imagesWhat is drawn is not read.
  • SectionsExperience, Education, Languages, Skills: headings it knows how to sort.
  • Name and contact detailsAt the top of the page, as text.
  • DatesA single format, so it can work out your years of experience.
  • Keywords from the job adIf you paste it: those in your CV, and those that are missing.

Check my CV

How it works

Three steps. Under a minute.

01

Drop your CV.

A PDF or a Word file. Your browser reads it: nothing is sent, nothing is stored.

02

Paste the job ad.

It's optional. The robot score then compares its keywords with those in your CV.

03

Fix what's flagged.

Each point says what's missing and how to fix it. Drop the new version: the score is recalculated.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will my CV be sure to get past the robots?

No one can guarantee a CV gets through every robot: each company has its own (Workday, SuccessFactors, Abacus Umantis…), set up its own way. The test checks what trips up most of them.

Is my CV sent anywhere?

Your CV never leaves your device. The check runs in your browser: nothing is sent, nothing is stored.

What doesn't the check see?

The check reads your CV's text, not its layout: it doesn't judge the font, the colours or the alignment. For a Word file, the page count is estimated. A "to check" item isn't always a mistake; it's a question to ask yourself before sending.

Why is a keyword missing when I do mention it?

The check compares the ad's words, not their meaning: "accounting" and "bookkeeping" don't match. To tailor your application to a specific job, the cover letter does that work: the Cover letter gives the structure and an example.
